Last week my amazing principal asked me if I would consider changing grade levels. Now anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE second grade. There are so many amazing things that they can do and I really enjoy the writing instruction at this pivotal age. So, I was a bit hesitant when she asked, but I figured that I would hear her out and then say no. When I asked her which grade she was talking about I expected her to say 5th or 6th grade, simply because those are two grades that would be less than excited to teach. I was shocked when what she told me which grade level it was, but thrilled at the same time. Then she told me how wonderful I was, knowing that this too would win me over. So, after a heart to heart with my hubby, I happily accepted the new grade level!
Without further delay, next year I will be teaching
I am simply tickled pink about teaching kinder next year! I always know when something is right because I get God-bumps. When I was asked to move to kindergarten I was covered in them from the tip of my head to the end of my toes. I truly believe that it is God's way of directing my path. Plus there is a treehouse in my new room! Hello, who could possibly resist that. I also know that it is going to be quite an adjustment and a lot of work on the front end. For those of you who saw my classroom pics from this years makeover, you know how much time and energy I put into it. This summer I will have to move my ENTIRE room (and there is soooooooooooo much to move) and update the new room which is three times the size of my current room! In addition, there is lesson planning, prep, and reviewing the I.B. units. Nonetheless, I can't wait! Any kinder teachers out there have some sage advice?
On a side note, I will continue to post 2nd grade freebies for quite awhile. I still have much to share!
