Chuga Chuga...Chuga Chuga...Choo Choo

I am feeling like the little engine that could. The last three days have been LONG, but I am in the home stretch. I cannot believe how much there was to do! I have been in my classroom until 9:30/10:00 pm all week and there are still things that need to be completed. I was able to snap a few progress pictures today (before my camera died), so you can get a sneak peek of what is to come! I am truly in love obsessed with my new digs. I actually considered crawling up on my classroom couch and sleeping over, but I figured that might be a bit much!

First up is my I.B. Learner Profile wall
The pictures above represent each attribute of the learner profile and contain our school's "I am" statements.  Below are one of my favorite purchases, speech bubbles. These are currently in the $.88 section at Walmart. On the first day of school we take "camera booth" style photos and I post their pictures next to the speech bubbles. The students then write how the focus attribute connects to them personally. For example, if the attribute is "Caring" a student might write "I am caring because I help people when they are hurt." I did this last year will handmade speech bubbles and it was a hit. Next to the "I am" bubbles is a board where students write down examples of that attribute. It could be something that they read about in a book or an event that they witness. The students love getting "caught being good!"

Next up is my morning meeting wall.

You can't see it in the picture, but the flower has a leaf that says awesome adjectives. It is too cute for words. I will take a close up tomorrow.

Lastly are a few of my I.B. Unit posters.
Well, the day has been long and I am pooped! Not to mention, tomorrow is the first day of teacher meetings, so I best go to bed. I will attempt to post more pictures tomorrow along with a few more freebies.

Hugs, peace, and chicken grease,
Shelly

  1. Did you make the poster pictures above your board that represent each attribute of the learner profile and contain your school's "I am" statements? I really, really like them! You need a photo of those on your site.
Thanks for GREAT ideas and shares.
